On this Tuesday Sabine, Simon and I drive to Toronto starting sometime in the morning. Since my arrival mid of August I have seen the city from the highway at the most, it was more like I avoided the traffic around it. And even this visit is not meant to get to know the city, rather the idea of outdoor adventures covers my mind.

Some kilometers before the city limits traffic increases, the highway consists of 16 lanes, winding itself through the suburbs.

We leave highway 401 and head along the coast highway until we reach CN tower. The streets are not only used by cars, a sign warns about pedestrians of another kind.

In front of the Air Canada Centre we park the car and walk northwards into the shopping district.

From here the CN tower and the rest of the skyline is very impressive.

A coffee in a small street cafe cheers us up, but our actual aim is the MEC - the Mountain Equipment Coop - a huge outdoor shop that binds clients as members by selling part-ownerships. They have a great variety of all outdoor stuff you can think of, you even can find a better choice in mountain bike parts than in some bike shops in Waterloo.

After some hours inside we spent several dollars and following enter another outdoor shop just across the street. After that we are pretty tired and decide to have something to eat.

As we are finished it is evening already, so we walk back to the car and go head home.
